Rusan Morgan Counselling
About me...
I have always been passionate about supporting others. The majority of my experience has been with children and teenagers, initially as a teacher and then transitioning to a school counsellor in 2012.
I am a client-centered therapist who incorporates a number of evidenced based theories including Satir family therapy, EFFT (emotion-focused family therapy), CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), and mindfulness.
I do not believe as humans we are meant to struggle alone, and I am honoured to support you through life's challenges.
I believe that healing and growth begins with connection and understanding with someone who really gets you.

"In my early professional years I was asking the question how can I treat, or cure, or change this person. Now I would phrase the question this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for their own personal growth". Carl Rogers

Services
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling, commonly known as psychotherapy or talk therapy, involves a one-on-one session with a trained mental health professional. In a safe and confidential setting individuals have the opportunity to delve into their feelings, beliefs, and behaviours. This therapeutic process typically includes working through challenging memories, identifying areas for personal growth, gaining self-awareness, developing coping mechanisms, and setting personal goals.
Child & Youth Counselling
Play serves as a fundamental means for children to communicate, express themselves, and explore their inner world. A lot of my work is based on training in NSST (Neuroscience and Satir in the Sandtray). I aim to create a nurturing atmosphere that promotes your child or youth's emotional development and well-being.
Additionally, I work closely with parents of younger clients to enhance communication and offer effective support strategies.
PLEASE NOTE:
At this time I am only accepting clients aged 12+.
Family Counselling
As humans we are built for connection. Our relationships with others can be nurturing, and can also be a source of stress. Family counselling aims to help families understand and support each other through difficult times. In family counselling a family is defined as any combination of people who care about each other and consider themselves a family.
